Lleida.net, first Spanish company awarded eIDAS type-approv

Madrid, 27 December. Lleida.net (BME:LLN) has been awarded the eIDAS type-approval on its certified email system, thus becoming the first Spanish company and the sixth European company to receive it.

This type-approval means that from now on it can be used at European level without any national restriction, and their electronic certifications should be admitted by default by any European court or agency.

By doing so, Lleida.net is the first Spanish organization complying with the requirements to be certified in the framework of the European system of recognition of electronic identities known as eIDAS (Electronic IDentification, Authentication and trust Services), under the section covering qualified delivery. eIDAS is the European regulation on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market.

"The type-approval stems from efforts and investment in R+D that Lleida.net has been performing in recent years. It is a recognition to our technology, since the system is based in a method for which Lleida.net has applied for a worldwide patent", says Sisco Sapena, company CEO.

According to studies published by companies such as P&S Market Research, it is estimated that the E-Signature market will grow six-fold within five years, to become a market of roughly 9 billion dollars per year.

The company has more than 75 patents in different regions around the world, including United States, European Union, Colombia, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (comprising Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates).

Last 19 December, Lleida.net became the only Spanish company listed both in Mercado Alternativo Bursátil (MAB) and Euronext Growth. Shares of stock for the company saw a closing price yesterday of 1.24 € per stock in Paris and 0.90 in Madrid.
