Lleida net becomes an SMS and fixed operator in the Dominic

Madrid, 3 December.- The Spanish telephone company has become an SMS and fixed telephony operator in the Dominican Republic, following the decision of the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (INDOTEL) to grant the corresponding licence during a five -year period.

Lleida.net, through its subsidiary Lleidanet Dominicana S.R.L., will sign new interconnection agreements with Dominican operators and strengthen its certification, contracting and notification services in the Caribbean.

The licence will allow Lleida.net to continue positioning itself not only in the Caribbean, but also in the rest of Latin America, where it has presence and commercial agreements in Colombia and Argentina. 

“Becoming a phone operator in the Dominican Republic is the result of years of work in the Caribbean, and only the first step to becoming a reference telephone operator in that region,” said Sisco Sapena, founder and CEO of the company.

Globally, the operator already has agreements with more than 1,500 companies in 150 countries and its electronic certification methods have been granted over patents in different markets in the area, including Colombia, Mexico and Argentina.

In addition, its innovations have been recognized with patents in the United States, the European Union, China, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Israel, Taiwan, South Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

In Latin America, the company provides its services to banks, insurance companies, energy companies and other telecommunications companies.

Over the first months of 2019 and during the last part of 2018, the company opted to contract sales force in  Peru, Colombia and Mexico.

Remarkable progress in 2019

Last October, Lleida.net, on the eve of its 25th anniversary, was awarded  the exclusively  contract for information on portability in Spain

Lleida.net, last year became the first Spanish company to quote on a dual basis in the Alternative Stock Market (MAB) and in Euronext Growth.

During 2018, it became the first and the only Spanish provider and the sixth in Europe to obtain the type approval of qualified electronic registered delivery service of the EIDAS regulation.

This type-approval means that it can be used at European level without any national restriction, and their certifications should be admitted by default by any European court or administration.

During this time the company invoiced 3.38 million euros and the accumulated sales of the year is already reaching 9.43 million euros, with a gross margin of 4.9 million (12% more than last year at this time).

EBITDA for the quarter reached 631,000 euros, or 52% more than the one recorded in the third quarter of 2018, and the accumulated so far in 2019 is 1.47 million euros.

At the close of the market, the shares in Paris were sold at 1.00 euros, and in  Madrid at 1.04 euros.

Stock capitalization of the company amounts to 16.37 million euros.
